Pre-Arrival & Orientation Information » Housing
Housing - CLS students are housed in Wood and
Haven Halls, air-conditioned residence halls on the north side of campus. Wood Hall is near the tennis courts and Sports Center and houses 78
students. The hall is arranged in four vertical "house"
arrangements, with each having a living room/lounge on the first floor and
student rooms on the second and third floors. A large building lounge, two
instructional rooms and a laundry room are centrally located on the lower level
for all to use. Haven Hall is designed in suite arrangements where a small group of students
share a lounge and kitchen area. These suites may or may not be coed, depending
on the desires of the students. This hall has a lounge and
instructional rooms on the lower level. For the location of Wood and Haven
Halls, please go to the North
Campus map.
Single
rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants
who wish to secure a single room are encouraged to apply as early
as possible to the program. In placing participants in the residence
hall, first priority is given to housing students according to language
groups. Placement in a single room may result in living in an area
with residents who do not necessarily study the same language that
you do. Students housed in single rooms will be charged an additional
fee of approximately $90 for the eight-week program. Bathrooms and showers are located down the hall from the student rooms.
During the first days of the program, participants in each suite area decide
whether the bathrooms will be co-ed or single sex.
On acceptance into the summer intensive language program, students will
receive a questionnaire and housing contract. Please return these forms directly
to the Center for Language Studies, Beloit College, 700 College Street, Beloit,
WI 53511. Assignments for single rooms will be made according to the date these
forms are received by the CLS and the Office of Residential Life. |
