For Students Arriving at
Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, Chicago's Midway Airport, or Chicago’s
Union Station (Amtrak)
If
you plan to fly, O'Hare or Midway airports in Chicago are the most
convenient points of access to Beloit. The Van Galder bus
runs a regularly scheduled shuttle between O'Hare and Midway airports
and Madison, Wisconsin, stopping in South Beloit on the way. A similar
service is available from Union Station (Amtrak) in downtown Chicago.
For Van Galder bus schedules, please go to the Web site at http://www.vangalderbus.com. A Beloit College van will be waiting
at the McDonalds/BP Amoco Travel Plaza at the (your bus depot) to meet all
students arriving on the Van Galder bus between 11:30 a.m. and 7:00
p.m. on Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, July 13. The van will take you to Wood Hall where
you will pick up your room keys. If you will be arriving earlier
or later than these times, please contact the Center for Language
Studies at 608.363.2277 or cls@beloit.edu ahead of time so that we can be there to meet you.
Participants arriving after 5:00 p.m. may pick
up keys and orientation packets at Security, which is located in the basement of Pearsons
Hall.
For Students Arriving
by Greyhound Bus
If you plan to arrive by Greyhound Bus, please
contact the CLS office at 608.363.2277 or cls@beloit.edu so that we can arrange to pick you up and take you to Wood
Hall. The Greyhound Bus station is located at least 15 minutes (by car) from the
Beloit College campus. Participants arriving after 5:00 p.m. may pick up keys and
orientation packets at Security, which is located in the basement of Pearsons
Hall.
For Students Driving to Beloit
From I-90, South Beloit exit:
Drive west to the second stoplight (at the intersection with Park Avenue),
passing by the Ramada Inn and the antiques mall. Turn right onto Park Avenue,
and drive north through two stoplights, continuing up the hill until you reach
Chapin Street. Turn left (west) on Chapin Street, and you'll see Middle College
two blocks ahead. Drive on Chapin until it intersects with College Street, and
park.
From I-43/Hwy 81 exit off I-90:
I-43 ends and becomes Milwaukee Road. Follow into Beloit (due west, past Walmart
and Staples), cross the railroad tracks, and veer left (at the "Y" in the road)
to remain on Milwaukee Road. Follow (southwest) to Chapin Street, where you turn
right. Middle College is about six blocks ahead.
Coming in Hwy. 81 from west:
Follow Hwy. 81 signs across the Rock River. Make first turn to the right (south)
on Pleasant Street. Turn left (east) on Emerson Street and follow to the campus
sign and map at College Street.

Important: Participants arriving before the listed arrival dates should make
arrangements to stay in a local hotel. The residence halls will
not be available before noon on June 14 (eight-week and Summer Session
I programs) and 5:00 p.m. on July 13 (Summer Session II program).
